This is a variation of Paul Harris’ Deep Astonishment trick.
In effect, you show 2 specially printed “lucky lady” Jokers that you carry in your bicycle deck for good luck. A lady spectator takes a trip back in time where she experienced her first kiss. She tells you the 2 initials of the person who gave her that first kiss, say, BG. You spread the deck face downwards – she sees the 2 Jokers that you showed her initially. She personally retrieves the 2 Jokers from the deck and turns them face downwards. One Joker has “B” boldly printed on its back and the other Joker has “G”.
The trick is based on a popular gaffed deck. This deck is supplied with the DVD. The deck is well made and is smooth in execution. The trick resets easily and is excellent for strolling magic. The trick works with any 2 letters initials. Brother Gilbert discusses variations, including using 4 Jokers instead of 2, each one bearing a different letter that together spell a 4-letter word. Another presentation has a spectator imagines the profession that she likes, and a name that she prefers instead of her present name. The 2 Jokers reveal the initials of that name! (5/5 stars rating)
